Artificial Archive imagines an alternate version of the early photographic record of the Caribbean in which the photographs of the African and Asian Caribbean people we see were made by their own hands, seen through their own perspectives, and are nowhere near as limited in what they depict as the actual photos that came out of that period of our history. Images in Artificial Archive imagine and foreground the personal and the intimate - facets of these peoples’ lives that we are deprived of in real life as they were not captured historically.
